Viparis is launching a calculator to measure the carbon footprint of exhibitions, conventions and events. The tool takes into consideration the type of event, special features of the Viparis premises and organisers' actions from planning through to implementation. Using the calculator makes it possible to identify the event factors with the greatest environmental impact.

Added value
Added value - for all concerned. That is the motto that the Eine Welt Netz NRW (One World Network North Rhine-Westphalia) has chosen for its three year Fair Trade project. With cooperating partners such as Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund, the Westfalen-Münsterland retailers association, the fair trade organisation Transfair and Dortmund municipal council, the project is supported by North Rhine-Westphalia state, the European Regional Development Fund and the North Rhine-Westphalia environment and development foundation "Umwelt und Entwicklung". One element of the drive for fair trade is a trade fair. Fa!r launches September 23 to 25, 2010 at Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund. Its mission is to showcase the entire fair trade product range and create momentum with lots of action areas. The event will focus on textiles and accessories with a symposium to round off the programme. ch
