Viscom: fair-within-a-fair
Viscom is being restructured. The event for manufacturers and suppliers of display, PoS and packaging solutions organised by Reed Exhibitions Germany, will strengthen the “fair-within-a-fair” Display PoS Expo as an independent section. In 2012 the fair, which will be hosted alternately in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt, will run from October 25 to 27 in Frankfurt.

UBM Asia and the Indonesian organiser Debindo have announced the Concrete Show South East Asia. First conference in Africa
With a two-day conference in Johannesburg, Deutsche Messe is organising an event in South Africa for the first time in its history. The integrated conference “International Infrastructure & Invest Convention - IIIC” will be held September 12 and 13, 2012, by Hannover Fairs International together with the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Southern Africa. The conference will be incorporated into the existing Fair Electra Mining Africa in the Expo Centre NASREC in Johannesburg.
Plug pulled on Be Connected
Messe Frankfurt is pulling the plug on its show Be Connected after just two editions. “Given the massive sea-change in the fast-moving contact centre industry, a separate event format geared to growth is hardly possible in the current market situation,” Klaus Reinke, Senior Vice President for New Business at Messe Frankfurt, commented. Be Connected was one of a group of shows with which Messe Frankfurt planned to address the “digitisation of business life” on a bigger scale. But the fair was unable to position itself against the show Call Center World. On April 24 and 25, 2012 the congress-expo trio Email-Expo, Search-Expo und UX-Expo will now take place without Be Connected. ank
Car parking during a fair
Viparis is extending its exhibitor service to incorporate the electronic parking ticket. On Epex, the e-commerce page of the Parisian trade fair organiser established in 2011, e-parking services can be ordered for the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles site. This is how it is done: Exhibitors order and pay online for their parking spaces and then print out or download pdfs onto a smartphone with valid barcodes. These are exchanged for a magnetic stripe card at the trade fair's parking ticket office, which is valid for the duration of the fair.
Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC) added a new accolade to its long list of achievements since inception in 2007, as it was named Best Purpose Built Venue at the Middle East Events Awards ceremony in May 2012. The ceremony aims to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Middle East's Event industry. Award judges included a panel of international judges from academia and leaders of industry.
