There are around 20 trade shows in New Zealand. Due to the geographical location most trade shows in New Zealand do not have a great relevance for international exhibitors. Most of the trade shows in New Zealand with international relevance refer to food processing and packaging equipment, food, agriculture and general industrial equipment.

New Zealand’s largest and most important exhibition centre is located in Auckland: the ASB Showgrounds. Fine Food New Zealand, one of the internationally renowned leading trade shows in New Zealand, takes place at this centre. This trade show is organized by Diversified Exhibitions Australia and North Port Events.
In 2010 around 240 exhibitors presented their company and products on Fine Food New Zealand – International Food, Drink and Equipment Exhibition. This trade show was attended by approximately 5734 trade visitors, who came to discover the latest trends and innovations of their industry.
As sponsor New Zealand’s ASB Bank provides financial support for ASB Showgrounds. Within a programme for expansion and modernization of this centre for trade shows in New Zealand large event halls with a total capacity of 10,000 square metres and an outdoor area of 15,000 square metres were completed in spring 2007.
More conferences in China
The Dutch Congrex group and CITS China International MICE have concluded an alliance to optimise their international convention marketing and project management. The aim is to set up more conferences in China that bring together international and European business with Chinese prospectives and companies.
