The Autoshow, to be organised by ITF – Istanbul Trade Fairs und CNR Expo on the CNR Expo site in Istanbul, has been cancelled. The exhibition for automobiles and accessories was scheduled for November 2 to 11, 2012.

First conference in Africa
With a two-day conference in Johannesburg, Deutsche Messe is organising an event in South Africa for the first time in its history. The integrated conference “International Infrastructure & Invest Convention - IIIC” will be held September 12 and 13, 2012, by Hannover Fairs International together with the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Southern Africa. The conference will be incorporated into the existing Fair Electra Mining Africa in the Expo Centre NASREC in Johannesburg.

Managing Trust: This is not only the hot topic at this year’s Cebit (March 6 to 10, 2012) in Hanover, it also describes Frank Pörschmann’s main task for this fair. As Senior Vice President of Cebit at Deutsche Messe, it is his job to bolster confidence in the ICT fair, attract new customers to the world’s most important exhibition in this sector and, of course, to win back lost or disappointed customers. The 43-year-old accepted this challenge two years ago and is mastering it with aplomb. “Our exhibitors often invest huge sums of money, place their confidence in us and our abilities, and rely on this quality”, says Pörschmann, who is set to join the managing board of Deutsche Messe on April 1, 2012. Following the launch of IMEX America last October in Las Vegas, organisers have announced developments to the format and content of Smart Monday, its pre-show one-day educational event on Monday, October 8, 2012. “Powered by MPI” it will include a morning keynote and all day sessions, which will cover topics including strategic meetings management, social media, leadership, sustainability, personal development, incentive travel, technology trends and international meetings management.
Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria have long been seen as excellent locations for business and research, which is reflected by the abundance of trade fairs in these two German states. Activity is not confined to the major centres of Munich, Nuremberg or Stuttgart; the so-called provinces are no backwater either...
